Declaration of Shared Christian Mission in the Workplace
As leaders of Christian workplace mission organisations, standing here on the land dedicated to the Eternal Wall of one million answered prayers, we unite to serve our Heavenly Father in the workplaces of the United Kingdom and the nations.
We praise You Father for the creation of work as a means of delivering what we need to live a productive life. We praise You for the prayers You have answered in the workplaces of the United Kingdom down the centuries.
We praise You Jesus for Your example of doing good work and Your teaching that guides us to work in a wise, fruitful and just manner.
We praise You Holy Spirit for Your inspiration in our work and Your creative vision that has guided the numerous innovations that have started in the United Kingdom and blessed the world.
As You declared to the Israelites, we bless the workplaces of the United Kingdom and the nations with the words
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace”.
We declare blessing on the Healthcare, Education, and Charity Sectors, that God’s love will flow through healers, educators, and charity workers, bringing hope, transformation and compassionate care.
We declare blessing to the Technology, Creative Arts and Retail Sectors, that innovators, artists, and retailers may be inspired by the Holy Spirit to bring forth beauty, creativity and positive impact in the world.
We declare blessing to the Financial, Legal and Justice and Construction Sectors, that the goodness of God may bring integrity, fairness, and responsible practices.
We declare blessing to the Energy, Environmental, Food and Transport Sectors that the guidance of God may enable them to steward resources, sustain life and protect the environment.
We declare blessing to the Hospitality, Tourism, Media, Manufacturing, Public Service and Government Sectors that they may serve with excellence, productivity, and compassion for all.
With one voice, we commit ourselves jointly to
- encourage and enable every Christian worker to live out their faith at work, declaring and demonstrating the good news of Jesus openly and boldly, for work to be done as to the Lord
- support Christians to come together as a missional community in their workplaces, seeking God’s face and praying the Kingdom to come
- champion integrity and excellence in every workplace, to promote honesty, transparency and accountability
- promote servant leadership, to foster a culture of collaboration, mutual respect and empowerment in every workplace
- challenge unfair practices that demean or enslave workers, so that all employees are treated with dignity, equality and fairness.
We believe in the power of collaboration and cooperation, so we commit to fostering unity and synergy to maximise our impact and reach. We will strive to share resources, best practices and experiences, creating a network that strengthens and empowers believers across different sectors and industries, to transform workplaces and change nations.
