Prayer and Pastoral Care

Prayer & Pastoral Lead
Femi.Idowu@transformworkuk.org

It is utterly vital to support everything we do for God in prayer. Transform Work has a network of intercessors who pray regularly for the groups we are in contact with particularly when issues arise or when they are planning an event or activity.

We are now expanding the scope of prayer and pastoral support we give to include referrals on pastoral matters from work place groups and individuals.

This could take the form of one-to-one prayer sessions and low level confidential Christian counselling sessions or face-to-face interaction as appropriate. We want everyone we work and relate with to know we are here for them, and to take all our cares and burdens to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Referrals can be made directly to Femi, our prayer and pastoral lead, via Femi.Idowu@transformworkuk.org or through our contact us form.

In the following articles/video clips, Femi focuses on workplace issues, but if you’d like to go deeper into general wisdom and prayer for your whole life, please do connect with pastor Femi who coordinates a prayer ministry, CUP (Christians United in Prayer). The CUP ministry puts particular emphasis on teaching the Word of God, as a major factor for building a better relationship with God – which is the core of the prayer process. Wisdom4Work
An introduction to Wisdom 4 Work by Pastor Femi Idowu. If you want to act and pray effectively at work, step 1 is knowing what to do by receiving insights from the Word of God. Join Femi on this journey of growing in wisdom at work.
"In my former book, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven". One of the most important aspects of life that Jesus taught was the importance of prayer, of connecting to 'Our Father'.
"In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen." Acts 1:1
Every workplace is a very spiritually complex place. Staff bring their god with them to the work. Christians are the most careless in knowing how to deal with the situations and circumstances they find themselves in.
Lent is not in the Bible but let us use this opportunity as a spiritual M.O.T.
Christian workplace ministry is very sensitive - as we live and work for Jesus we can attract the enemy who wants to shut us down. Christian Workplace Groups need a strong bond between the members so they can grow strong.
We need to rely on the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our Christian Workplace Groups and not to go in our own strength. It is risky to think we can just jump into workplace ministry without being baptised with the Holy Spirit.
As iron sharpens iron, so we need fellow brothers and sisters in the workplace.
James 5:16 Spirit to Spirit prayer.
Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
