Ealing Council Christianity Awareness Week 2018

Ealing CAW 20140411133742
The group at Ealing Council ran a Christianity Awareness Week just before Easter. We received this report from the group leader on this highly successful event. The picture on the right is actually from an earlier Christianity Awareness Week held in the council. This year was their fourth such event!

We thank the Lord for His gracious presence and blessing upon our outreach.  We are grateful for the prayer support we have received and especially that we have continued to have the approval of our HR department for the event, which we do not take for granted.

We ran an information stand in the busy café area on the ground floor of our office building, Perceval House, from 12 noon to 2 pm on Monday to Thursday of Easter Week.  A lot of literature was taken, including New Testaments and Gospels along with a great many books, booklets and tracts about Easter.  Some members of other faiths were among those who took literature and there were some good conversations with visitors to the stand.

We joined with the regular weekly Ealing Lunchtime Talk held by a local church in the Town Hall on the Tuesday and we were delighted that one particular individual, who has been quite sceptical for a long time, accepted an invitation to come and also took a book from our table afterwards.

We held a talk entitled “Encountering the Living God” on Wednesday lunchtime and showed the Jesus video on Thursday lunchtime.  There was not a large attendance at either the talk or the film, but we are thankful that several newcomers were there at each event who had been invited by colleagues.  We were able to distribute 25 copies of the Jesus video, which we trust the Lord will yet use to benefit many more.

It was once again a great privilege to be able to “hold forth the Word of Life” in our council, given the increasing secularisation of the modern workplace, and we continue to pray for much fruit.
