Is Your Faith Active?
“A great leader’s courage to fulfil his vision comes from passion, not position.” – John Maxwell
‘…faith to build eternal value has an instant dimension, it's real and alive and powerful and active today…That value has the dimension of eternity but it is here now.’ – Richard Fleming
What do you see? What you see determines what you reach for. What you reach for determines the power of your momentum. Your momentum determines your output.
Are you moving towards your dream? Do you have a dream?
The candidates in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews, such as Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Jacob had no dream until they encountered the Great Dreamer who saw the universe, its billions of galaxies and the planets before they were ever created. He saw humanity before there was ever a garden, and had a great plan of redemption long before man was ever spoken into being.
The key then is to find, know and befriend this Great Dreamer and tap into His dream. What did He see in you long before you were created? A leader? A fighter? An overcomer? Or, what?
David said: Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them. Psalm 139:16 (AMPC).
I strongly affirm that He had a good plan in mind… if you will tap into His dream.
Maybe His dream for you is to make a difference in the place where you work
Maybe it is to start a Christian Workplace Group. Maybe it is to raise your head above the parapet and organise a Christian event in your workplace – a Christmas Carol Service, a Christianity Awareness Week, an Alpha in the Workplace, a Christianity Explored course, an Easter event, or maybe have coffee with that colleague and just listen to their story…
There is always a starting point. Start where you are and take the next step and then the next. It is always a process, but keep the dream before your eyes and one day you will be there.
The dream is birthed in your heart by faith… His faith
It is His dream and His faith that produces the momentum for the dream. You cannot make it happen. When you see what He sees, you will be energised, inspired and moved to action now. There are so many examples in the Hall of Faith in Hebrews 11.
[Urged on] by faith the people crossed the Red Sea as [though] on dry land, but when the Egyptians tried to do the same thing they were swallowed up [by the sea]. V29.
[With eyes of] faith Isaac, looking far into the future, invoked blessings upon Jacob and Esau. V20.
[Actuated] by faith Joseph, when nearing the end of his life, referred to [the promise of God for] the departure of the Israelites out of Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his own bones. V22.
[Prompted] by faith Moses, after his birth, was kept concealed for three months by his parents, because they saw how comely the child was; and they were not overawed and terrified by the king’s decree. V23.
[Aroused] by faith Moses, when he had grown to maturity and-become great, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter… V24.
‘… time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, Who by [the help of] faith subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions, extinguished the power of raging fire, escaped the devourings of the sword, out of frailty and weakness won strength and became stalwart, even mighty and resistless in battle, routing alien hosts.’ V32-34.
What they saw activated their faith
It is not too late to seek the Great Dreamer for His dream for your life, your family, your community and your workplace. Let it urge you on, prompt you, activate you and arouse you to action. Faith will give you eyes to see…today.
NOW FAITH IS the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11:1.
When it comes and you answer... in an instant faith is there and the impossible become achievable, even in your workplace. Why don’t you read the whole chapter of Hebrews 11 and find out how.
